Kids for World Health was established entirely by kids with the support of their advisors for the purpose of contributing to the effort to eliminate Trypanosomiasis or Sleeping Sickness within the affected countries of Africa and for raising awareness of all neglected diseases. It is an organization whose young founders adhere to the Truth that "Life is important for all people of the world, rich or poor." The organization was founded in 2001 in Larchmont, New York, as a compassionate and thoughtful reaction to the plight of the 500,000 African people who are infected with this disease and the thousands who die annually, knowing that a cure exists in the western world, but for them has been unattainable.
